Faster development through simulation
In every position, the grow-with-me car seat had to deliver safety and expert ergonomic fit. Bringing together posable 3D human data and product CAD, we simulated each position and seat motion to evaluate fit, reach, posture, clearance, and interaction, to vet design concepts, and test human-fit before committing to physical prototypes.
Our approach ensured every design decision met regulatory standards and fast-tracked the product from concept to manufacturing in just 18 months.

The Marie Swandoo earned a five-star rear-facing rating from ADAC, and "Best in Category" (up to approx. 4 years/40–105 cm) from ADAC, ÖAMTC, and TCS in autumn 2021 consumer tests.

Our Process
We worked closely with Swandoo's engineering and safety teams to design the Marie 360, testing seat ergonomics across a range of child sizes using industry-standard virtual models.
By building a 3D virtual rig around Swandoo's physical testing requirements, we ensured every design decision met regulatory standards from day one, fast-tracking a process that typically takes years.
Design and form development
We shaped the Marie 360 through continuous rounds of sketching and iteration, refining proportion, surfacing, and material until the seat's form matched the confidence of its safety engineering.

Accelerating design
for regulation
Navigating a car seat design through the regulatory and testing process often takes years. We fast-tracked this complex process by building a human product simulation, inputting the physical testing constraints and requirements identified by Swandoo’s engineering team, so that all design was guaranteed to comply with the defined parameters.

Ergonomic design
& safety testing
Safety and comfort for parents and children were essential in our design process. Using industry standard virtual models, we tested the ergonomics of seat positions for various child sizes. In collaboration with Swandoo’s safety experts, we tested safety components within our virtual environment.

Soft goods for organic form
The creative direction for Swandoo’s organic shapes and curves came from their Chief Designer Nicolas Gonzalez-Garrido. To maintain the integrity of his vision, we reversed our traditional soft goods workflow (flat pattern to 3D form) and unwrapped the 3D sculpted design to generate 2D patterns.
